09.04.06 - As many of you are probably aware, Scarlet's Remains are currently in the studio working on our second album, which explains our recent break from live performances and apparent hermit lifestyles. We're pretty happy to report that the experience has been one of abundant creativity and we've taken a somewhat more playful approach to the creation of this album which has allowed us to further develop and refine our sound and yet still allow each member to express themselves in all of their uniqueness. After all, thats what we love about being in this band. Each one of us comes from a different background, be it Tony adding the punk and deathrock aspects, Bari with his gothic tendencies, Ashes with his roots firmly planted in rock and industrial, and eveghost counting influences broad and adding a dash new wave, indie and world music for flavor.
The creation of this album has differed from the last in that we havent really refined the songs before we go in, we head into the studio with fresh material and lay down the tracks in that very new, fresh, and exciting time when a song is in its infancy. Of course this means these songs will probably evolve further in the future, but its been an exciting experiment none the less. We feel quite happy with the creation of these songs and excited to see how they translate to the realm of the live show.
So far there are several tracks in the works, at various stages of completion. For those who like to geek out, here are the titles thus far: Denial, Bitter Cold in a Dry Season, The Magician, The Palest Gray, & Spin. And of course, you've already heard The Sacrifice, which will most likely be included on the full release.
